What the what?!

Elliott has returned from school with socks that look like this two days in a row. How does this happen? Do you think he's eating them?

Spaghetti night

In this (admittedly long) video, you will see the many talents of Elliott. Listen to him say "thanks," "that?," "Elmo," "hello," and "bye-bye." Watch as he successfully identifies his ear. And notice his impeccable dining habits. --Marilyn

An Empty Relationship

Since Elliott's birthday party, he has developed an unhealthy love for this Elmo balloon. Every time they are in the same room together, he cries for "Lala" (that's how he says "Elmo"). Last week while Eric was rocking him to sleep for a nap, he kept calling for Elmo until I brought the balloon to him. He fell asleep holding the string.

Now that Elmo is looking a little droopy, I'm afraid that Elliott's going to need therapy soon to get over his obsession. No birthday balloons next year!

I'm Elliott, I'll be your tour guide today.

It looks like Elliott is pointing out the scenery in our yard.

The after-party

Elliott loved the bubbles that Breanna blew for him.

Party Time, finally

After an eight day delay, we finally got to celebrate Elliott's birthday today. His cake was as tasty as it was cute.

Elliott and Luke were fascinated by Daisy drinking water.

mmm cake

I can't believe I ate the whole thing.

Presents!

Cruisin' for chicks after an awesome party!

So happy to be home!

Don't mind those bony ribs, we'll fatten him back up in no time.

5 night 6 day non-vacation

We're back home! Elliott is doing much better and was finally released from Children's around lunch time today.  He's so excited to be back home. We'll post some pictures of his triumphant return later tonight, but for now here are some pics of Elliott's hospital stay. He has been getting a little bit better every day.  We truly appreciate all the thoughts, prayers, visits, and food from everyone.  I don't know how we would have gotten through it without you!  - eric

Cookie Monster kept him company and of course encouraged him to eat.
Elliott had breathing treatments every four hours. He didn't like it at first, but we think he started to like his dinosaur mask by the end of the stay.

Elliott's friend Jack gave him a birthday present to brighten his last night at the hospital.

Quick update

I just came home to grab us some more clothes and wanted to give everyone a quick update. Elliott is still in the hospital, but his doctors are fairly confident that he will be able to come home tomorrow morning. His oxygen was turned off this morning, and when I left 3 hours later he was still doing very well. (His previous attempts to come off the oxygen all ended after about an hour.) So he's definitely come a long way! Continue to keep him in your thoughts...thanks so much to all of our family and friends who have helped so much this last week. It's been a nightmare, but the experience has been a whole lot better than it would have been without you. Hope to post again tomorrow with news that he's home!
