The folks you meet at DW

We had several character meals this trip so that Elliott could hang out with the Disney gang without standing in any lines. So worth it. He told them all that he was 3 years old (!!!), compared foot sizes with Pooh, and asked them all to sign his autograph book before sending them on their way with big hugs. He even managed to eat some Mickey-shaped food between visits from his friends!

Big Thunder Mountain!

Elliott's first roller coaster was Big Thunder Mountain at Magic Kingdom. He likes to call it "the fast choo choo train." (We apologize in advance for some shaky camera work.) In spite of the fact that he seems pretty unsure during most of the ride, he loved it and refused to get off because he wanted to go again!

Easy rider

The Newest Little Photographer

Elliott got a Fisher-Price digital camera for his birthday. We actually bought it on a really big Amazon Christmas sale, and have just been holding it until his birthday. Anyway, we went with Luke and his mommy to see Rango tonight, and Elliott wanted to try out his new camera on the way. Not too bad for the first outing. He also took some more pictures once we got home. Check them out.

Of course he wanted Mommy to take his picture too.

Birthday bash

Today we held Elliott's birthday party at the McWane Science Center. About 40 friends and family came to celebrate with us, and we had so much fun!

Home Maintenance Mayhem

Today was probably one of the most exciting days in Elliott's life. He helped us sack up leaves all morning. Then in the afternoon he "mowed" the yard with Daddy (sans pants and shoes).

And then Daddy set the yard on fire. Technically, the lawn mower caught fire and the super-dry, dormant Zoysia was the perfect kindling. A little water hose action cooled things off before the whole neighborhood went up in flames, but there were a few hairy moments. Elliott keeps saying, "Daddy's like a fireman! He's fast and strong!"

On the plus side, Internet research seems to indicate that a little "controlled burn" is actually good for the grass. Who knew?
