Stormy Saturday Makes Way for Super-Sunny Sunday!

Today we went to the Magic City Art Connection with the two coolest dudes in Birmingham.

This musical group had the most educational songs I've ever heard. One was about the watershed ("the drainage basin of the river" according to the lyrics); another was about trees (complete with genus and species names of multiple trees). Fun!

The weather was too beautiful for us to go back home.

So after an alfresco lunch, we headed to the botanical garden.

Then Elliott rode his bike in the driveway until almost dinner time.

Note that he has mastered forward motion AND backward!

A-Day Game 2010

This was our ride to the PRACTICE GAME on Saturday, pimped out Daddy-style. (Mommy was a little bit mortified. But she knew what she was getting into 10 years ago so she can't complain too much.)

Hat, check. Sunglasses, check. Water, check. Bama shirt, check.

There was a picnic on the quad.

Then we joined the rest of the faithful around Denny Chimes.

Finally, we met up with approximately 92,000 of our friends and neighbors in the stadium. (Did I mention that this was a PRACTICE GAME?)

The weather was beautiful, and our team was assured a victory. Days don't get much better!

Napping after the concert

When Elliott performs, he leaves it all on the stage.

All Aboard!

We went with some friends to The Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum in Calera this morning to meet and ride Thomas the Train.
Elliott's waving bye to all the folks at the station.

Jack's mom, Libby, made some yummy Choo Choo Train blueberry muffins.

Elliott just kicked back for the ride and gobbled his up.

One of the conductors gave us important instructions along the way.

Like this important message.
We passed a golf course on the way and Elliott wanted to go hit a few.

Jack's sister Kate wanted to play too.

Elliott surprised us by wanting a train tattoo.
The boys comparing their ink.
Then Elliott got all Joe Cool with his sun glasses and wanted to rumble with the older kids. Luke is standing guard.
Then we took in a little folk music.
Libby and Jack.
They also set up a little petting zoo. Elliott loved it.
