Elliott had a great Christmas at Granna and Pop's house. I think Santa is officially his BFF. This is the sight that greeted him on Christmas morning!
Check out my tricked-out trike (complete with electronic blinkers and various sound effects)!
He wore his Mickey jacket from Granna and Pop all day. (Notice the tag still hanging from the sleeve. He wouldn't even take it off long enough to remove that!)
Wearing my helmet on my bike. (Yeah, I have a helmet. Quit hatin'.)
Last night was the McWane Center members-only Christmas party. Elliott (and sidekick Luke) got VIP access to the miniature train exhibit, cookie decorating, and Santa Claus. They probably could have done without the Santa part. Elliott was OK with Santa being near him and even waved good-bye to him. But he didn’t care for the lap time. Luke kind of freaked out. He wouldn’t even look at the guy! It was definitely a funny/sad experience!
For the past few days, Elliott has insisted on giving Mickey a place of honor next to him at the breakfast table. Note that he also covers Mickey in his favorite blanket. (My baby is such a wonderful host.)
Elliott was sick in his bed last night. He doesn't have a fever and seems to feel fine so we were a little confused about what made him sick. Then I read his daily log from school yesterday and I think I found a clue. Check out the meal log on the right side of the sheet: Yep, it says he had 2 full servings at morning snack, 2 full servings of lunch, and 3 full servings at afternoon snack time! That might have something to do with his tummy troubles.
Elliott was excited to hang the first ornament on our Christmas tree. But he wasn't so overcome that he neglected his dinner. While we were trimming the tree, he marched over to the table, picked up his plate, and sat down in the floor to eat and watch us hang more!
Mommy's got the flu, y'all! The swine kind! So you'll just have to be patient for a few more days because nothing worth blogging about is going on here at Casa Elliott. Daddy's worn out trying to keep up with me and hold down his day job. Single daddies have it rough! And they have a hard time putting together outfits, but that's another conversation. (Just cut me some slack if I look a little odd at times this week.) Hope to be back in the swing of things next week! --Elliott
We went to the Moss Rock Festival this weekend. It's an art festival with live music, kids' crafts, food, etc. The best part is the location: about 1/2 mile from our house! Elliott got to ride a school bus, which was very high on his list of favorite things. (In his words: "Big, big bus! Big, big boy! Big, big bus!") He also saw a fire truck. ("Big, big truck!") Guess you can tell what his favorite word is right now.
We live in Birmingham, Alabama. We have been married since July 22, 2000. Elliott was born March 4, 2008, at 3:41 a.m. He weighed 8 lbs., 10 oz. and was 21.5 inches long. This blog is for all of our family and friends to watch him grow up.
